NPP Bono Regional Chairman Abronye granted GH₵50,000 bail

The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, has been granted bail in the sum of GH₵50,000.
The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was arrested on Monday, September 8, 2025, by the Ghana Police Service over allegations of “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace.”
He has remained in custody since his arrest.
At Friday’s hearing, the court ruled that the remand would give prosecutors more time to advance investigations into the case.
Although the specific details of the charges have not yet been disclosed, the case has generated widespread national attention due to Abronye’s influential position within the NPP and his reputation for outspoken political commentary.
Abronye, a prominent and outspoken figure within the NPP, has in recent years been at the centre of several controversies, often making headlines for his strong political commentary.
