Minister being honoured by the chiefs in Western Region

The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, has joined the Western Regional House of Chiefs, members of the Council of State, and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to honour the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, for his role in promoting peace in the region.

The ceremony, held on Tuesday, April 14, recognised Mr. Buah’s efforts in resolving a longstanding leadership dispute within the House of Chiefs, which had persisted for over five years.

Chiefs who addressed the gathering praised the Minister for his hands-on approach, noting that he personally engaged the feuding factions, spending time listening and facilitating dialogue to achieve consensus.

Nana Kobina Nketsia V recalled that Mr. Buah approached the mediation process not only in his official capacity but also as a native of the region, appealing to unity and shared identity.

In addition to his peacebuilding efforts, the Minister was also commended for his contributions to the overall development of the Western Region.

Mr. Nelson, in his remarks, expressed appreciation to the chiefs for recognising the Minister’s work and lauded them for embracing unity after years of division.

He further urged traditional leaders to continue working together to advance development across their communities.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including Maxwell Boakye, as well as other regional officials.
