The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Tamekloe, has extended heartfelt appreciation to the leadership and members of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) for suspending their nationwide strike.

In a brief statement on his Facebook wall, Mr. Tamekloe expressed gratitude to the nurses for their decision to return to work despite ongoing concerns over the delayed implementation of their revised conditions of service.

“We thank the nurses for suspending the strike action,” he said.

“Health is everything. Your dedication to the well-being of Ghanaians is deeply appreciated.”

The nurses had embarked on an industrial action to demand the enforcement of a Collective Agreement signed with the Ministry of Health in May 2024.

Their decision to suspend the strike followed a meeting with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, where renewed commitments were made to address their grievances through dialogue.

Mr. Tamekloe commended the nurses for choosing the path of negotiation and urged all stakeholders to work swiftly and sincerely to resolve the outstanding issues in the interest of public health and national stability.
