W/R: Two arrested for brutal assault on 12-year-old boy at New Ankasa

Police in Elubo have arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in the brutal assault and torture of a 12-year-old boy at New Ankasa, a community located approximately 10 kilometres from Elubo in the Western Region.
The disturbing incident came to the attention of law enforcement after an unidentified individual forwarded a video to the Elubo Police Station around 12:00 PM on Monday.
The footage showed the young boy, identified as Mustapha Mohammed, tied with a nylon rope and hung from the roof of a building while being subjected to severe beatings.
According to police, the boy was accused of stealing GHS 200, which reportedly led to the violent attack.
Swiftly responding to the tip-off, officers proceeded to the New Ankasa Community, where they arrested two suspects captured in the video: Issah Moro, aged 58, and Suleman Abdul Rashid, aged 27.
The victim was immediately rescued and brought to the police station for safety and medical attention.
The suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
Police have condemned the incident and reiterated that acts of mob justice or personal retribution are criminal and punishable under the laws of Ghana.
They urged the public to report all criminal suspicions to law enforcement rather than taking matters into their own hands.
Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
