IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno promotes 13 senior police officers for distinguished service
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has announced the promotion of 13 senior police officers in recognition of their distinguished service and exceptional performance of duty.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in line with the police administration’s commitment to rewarding courage, sacrifice and outstanding service to the nation.
A special decoration ceremony was held at the National Police Headquarters in Cantonments, Accra, where the promoted officers were formally decorated.
Explaining the rationale behind the promotions, the IGP said the decision reflected the Ghana Police Service’s resolve to acknowledge officers who consistently demonstrate perseverance, professionalism, resilience and exceptional commitment in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Beyond recognising the 13 senior officers, Mr Yohuno noted that the promotions were also intended to inspire and motivate all police personnel to serve with integrity, discipline and dedication, with the assurance that diligence and hard work will always be recognised.
He, therefore, urged officers at all levels to remain committed to their duty and to continue serving the nation with excellence.
