The stakeholder committee looking into DStv's pricing has been granted a week's extension to complete its work towards resolving the impasse between the Ministry of Communication and the entertainment provider operated by MultiChoice Ghana.

The committee, established to evaluate DStv pricing in Ghana, commenced work on September 8, 2025, to address the following:

a) Achieve a shared understanding of DStv pricing for Ghana and structured, mutually acceptable and commercially viable mpasures to address the Minister's concerns around the pricing of the DStv service.

b) Establish an acceptable roadmap to curb cross-border piracy of DStv decoders/service from Nigeria to Ghana.

According to a National Communication Authority (NCA) statement dated September 23, "Whilst the Committee has made significant progress, it has requested an extension of one week to complete its work, which extension has been granted by the Honourable Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations. Consequently, the outcome of the Committee's work is expected to be presented by 29 September, 2025."
