Free Zones Authority engages Libyan business delegation to deepen investment ties

The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) on Monday, June 30, 2025, hosted a high-level business delegation from Libya as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s position as the preferred investment destination and gateway to the African market.
The meeting, led by the Chief Executive Officer of the GFZA, Dr. Mary Awusi, aimed at exploring investment opportunities and deepening trade relations between Ghana and Libya through the Free Zones Programme.
The visiting Libyan delegation included Mr. Zidane Zidane, CEO of ZM Group; Mr. Abdul Salam Salim, CEO of Al Khalij Construction; and Mr. Mohammed Khalifa, Project Manager.
Discussions focused on Ghana’s strategic location, the incentives offered under the Free Zones regime, and the role of the Authority in facilitating intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Dr. Awusi highlighted the GFZA’s mandate to serve as a bridge between international investors and Africa’s growing market, emphasising the country’s stability, investor-friendly policies, and access to regional markets.
“We were pleased to share Ghana’s investment advantages and how the Free Zones Programme offers a unique platform for trade and manufacturing across Africa,” Dr. Awusi said.
“We look forward to building a productive relationship with our Libyan partners in the months ahead.”
