Korle-Bu CEO applauds government, PSC for new HR management system
The Chief Executive Officer of Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital, Yakubu Seidu Adam, has praised the Government and the Public Services Commission for introducing a new Human Resource Information Management System (HRIMS) aimed at improving human resource administration across public institutions.
According to Dr. Adam, the comprehensive digital platform will streamline key HR functions such as recruitment, payroll management, attendance tracking and performance evaluation, providing what he described as a “one-stop solution” to the hospital’s human resource needs.
He made the remarks during a training session organised for HR personnel at the hospital to prepare staff for the rollout of the system, in line with the Commission’s new mandates.
Dr. Adam urged participants to take the training seriously and fully engage with the process, noting that the initiative is critical to enhancing internal efficiency, transparency and accountability within the hospital’s operations.
He explained that the system would strengthen attendance monitoring, reduce absenteeism, tighten payroll controls and improve overall workforce management at the facility.
Management, he assured, remains fully committed to ensuring the smooth and effective implementation of the platform.
The training was facilitated by officials from the Commission, Mr. George Anane and Dr. Prince Darah, who took participants through modules on attendance and absenteeism management, payroll processes, salary administration, budgeting linkages, staff postings, promotions, organisational structure and system functionalities.
The interactive session attracted senior management and departmental heads, including the hospital’s directors of Human Resources, Administration, Nursing and Midwifery Services, Finance and Public Relations, among others, who engaged facilitators to gain a deeper understanding of the new system.
