V/R: North Tongu drivers to benefit from ‘Free Fuel Friday’ initiative
Commercial drivers and transport operators across the North Tongu Constituency are set to receive free fuel support on Friday, February 6, 2026, as part of a community assistance initiative dubbed Free Fuel Friday.
The exercise, announced on a flyer bearing the name of Foreign Affairs Minister and Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, targets commercial drivers including trotro and taxi operators, KIA truck drivers, okada riders, and boat operators.
According to the flyer, the fuel distribution will take place simultaneously at designated filling stations between 7 AM and 9 AM.
In the Battor-Mepe area, beneficiaries can access the offer at Star Oil in Battor, and Alinco at Aveyime. Meanwhile, operators in the Dorfor, Volo, Fodzoku and Torgorme areas are expected to receive fuel at Life Energy in Juapong and Alinco in Juapong.
Organisers say the initiative is intended to ease the operational costs of transport operators and allow residents to “share in the benefits of Mahama’s economic recovery and massive price reductions.”
The programme is being sponsored by the North Tongu MP and friends, and is being promoted under the hashtags #TogbeWorgbedziCares and #NorthTonguRising.
Residents and drivers are expected to turn up early at the various stations to benefit from the limited-time offer.
