Sam George expresses support for Ghanaian UNIFIL troops after attack in Lebanon
Samuel Nartey George has expressed prayers and support for members of the Ghana Armed Forces serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon following the recent attack on Ghanaian peacekeepers in southern Lebanon.
In a message of solidarity, the Minister for Communications, Technology and Digitalisation said his thoughts and prayers were with the gallant men and women of the Ghana Armed Forces deployed under the United Nations peacekeeping mission.
Mr. George recalled his visit to the mission area in 2017, noting that the experience gave him a first-hand appreciation of the dedication and professionalism displayed by Ghanaian officers serving far from home.
He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the soldiers who were injured and others who may have been traumatised by the incident.
The Minister commended the Ghanaian peacekeepers for their continued service to global peace and security, wishing them safety as they carry out their duties under the UN mission.
