Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, together with the Municipal Chief Executive for Awutu Senya East Municipal District in the Central Region, Seth Sarbah Banini, has supported the Muslim community in the area with food items to aid their observance of Ramadan.
The donation was made to Muslims within the Awutu Senya East Constituency as they undertake the period of fasting and prayer.
The gesture, according to the MP, was to recognise the spiritual significance of Ramadan and support members of the Muslim community as they make sacrifices during the holy month.
Items donated included 80 bags of sugar, 50 bags of rice, 100 cartons of milk, 40 cartons of Lipton tea, 50 containers of vegetable oil, 20 cartons of Milo, 40 cartons of bottled water and 100 bags of sachet water.
The MP and the MCE also expressed appreciation to the Muslim community for their continued prayers and goodwill for Ghana and the people of the Constituency.
They further wished Muslims a peaceful and blessed fasting period and prayed for unity, peace and prosperity for residents of Kasoa and the entire Awutu Senya East area.
