Melcom donates GHS500,000 to Ghana Medical Trust Fund to support “Heal Ghana” campaign
The Melcom Group, a retail giant with 36 years of service and over 80 stores, has donated GHS500,000 to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund to support its “Heal Ghana” campaign, aimed at assisting patients battling chronic Non-Communicable Diseases.
The donation was handed over by Ramesh Sadhwani, Group Managing Director, and Sonya Sadhwani, Group Executive Director, to the Fund’s Administrator, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, and her senior management team at the Trust Fund Secretariat in Accra.
Administrator of the Fund, Adwoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, highlighted the critical need for such support, noting that 45% of deaths in Ghana are linked to chronic Non-Communicable Diseases.
She praised Melcom’s contribution as a key step in relieving families and giving hope to patients nationwide.
“Through partnerships with market leaders like Melcom, we are building a stronger Ghana.
Their support demonstrates how corporate Ghana can drive life-saving healthcare initiatives to help ‘Heal Ghana,’” she said.
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund continues to invite contributions from the public.
