MCE, MP support Muslim communities in KEEA with Ramadan donations
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality, Ismeal Zagoon Seead, and the Member of Parliament for the area, Samuel Atta Mills, have donated assorted food items to Muslim communities in the municipality to support the ongoing Ramadan fast.
The gesture, which forms part of an annual tradition, is aimed at easing the burden on Muslim families during the holy month of fasting and prayer.
Speaking at the presentation, Mr Seead noted that the Municipal Assembly has consistently supported Muslim communities during Ramadan as part of its social responsibility to promote inclusivity and welfare.
“This has been a routine effort by the Assembly to stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters during this important period,” he said.
On his part, Mr Atta Mills reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of the constituency, stressing that his leadership extends to all segments of society.
“I am here to serve the good people of Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem in diverse ways,” he stated.
He highlighted additional interventions, including sponsorship of selected Muslims to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage and the provision of scholarships to Muslim students within the constituency.
The MP also used the occasion to reiterate plans to revamp the Komenda Sugar Factory, noting that its restoration would create both direct and indirect employment opportunities for the youth and help reduce unemployment in the Central Region and the country at large.
In response, the Chief Imam of the municipality expressed gratitude to the MCE and the MP for their continued support, offering prayers for strength and guidance in their efforts to advance development in the area.
