President John Mahama revealed on 27th February during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) that his administration is finalising 23 major road projects left incomplete by the previous government.

These projects, which were awarded but not paid for, are estimated to cost approximately GHS 15 billion.

President Mahama emphasised that completing these infrastructure projects is a cornerstone of the government’s “Big Push” initiative, aimed at boosting economic activity, creating jobs, and improving connectivity across the country.

He noted that many of the roads have remained unfinished for years, causing hardship for commuters and limiting trade opportunities in affected regions.

“This administration is committed to ensuring that the Ghanaian people benefit from every Cedi invested in infrastructure,” President Mahama said.

“We are not just constructing roads; we are building a foundation for economic growth, regional integration, and national development.”

The government plans to fast-track these projects, with a focus on quality, timely completion, and transparency in the use of public funds.
