Selorm Dornyoh announces ‘Tone Universe’ masterclass to sharpen Ghana’s next generation of guitarists
Aspiring and intermediate guitarists looking to sharpen their sound and elevate their musicianship have a new opportunity to learn directly from one of Ghana’s most respected live performers and session players.
Ghanaian guitarist and member of the award-winning FRA! band, Selorm Dornyoh, has announced a one-day intensive masterclass dubbed Tone Universe, aimed at breaking down the practical and technical secrets behind great tone, sound design and professional performance.
According to Selorm, the event is the result of years of questions from musicians curious about how he achieves his signature sound.
“Over the years I’ve received questions on tone and sound design in general. I’ve put together all I’ve learnt into one package,” he shared, promising participants hands-on insights and tools to transform their playing.
A practical, studio-to-stage learning experience
The masterclass will cover key areas including tone shaping, effects use, sound engineering basics and live performance techniques. It is designed not only for guitarists, but also bassists, keyboardists and engineers who want a deeper understanding of building professional sound.
Selorm will be joined by a team of experienced practitioners: sound engineer Jonathan Kakraba Jnr, guitarist Enid Blekk, bassist and music producer OBK and singer-songwriter and music director Dave da Musicbox, each bringing their own expertise to the sessions.
Organisers say the collaborative format will allow attendees to learn directly from working musicians and producers who understand both the creative and technical sides of music production.
Event details
The session is scheduled for 10 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Vibrate Space in Shiashie, Accra.
Registration is ¢500, which covers access to the full programme, resource materials and lunch.
The event is supported by Sweet Muzic Pro Audio and Sceptre Guitars.
A call to young musicians
For beginners and intermediate players especially, the masterclass presents a rare chance to gain insider knowledge that often takes years of trial and error to acquire.
From dialling in the right tone to understanding how sound behaves on stage and in the studio, participants are expected to walk away with practical skills they can immediately apply to rehearsals, recordings and live shows.
With interest already building, organisers are encouraging musicians to register early to secure a spot.
