Lyrical Joe says he never wanted the ‘fastest rapper’ label despite his speed
Ghanaian rapper Lyrical Joe has opened up about being described as the fastest rapper in the country, saying it was never a label he aimed to carry.
During an interview on Daybreak Hitz, he shared that from the start of his journey in music, he has always been aware of his ability to rap at an exceptional speed.
However, he explained that he did not want that single trait to define his entire artistry.
He stated that rapping fast is only one aspect of hip-hop and does not represent the full scope of the craft. According to him, rap is much more comprehensive, involving storytelling, wordplay, rhyme schemes, metaphors and strong delivery.
Lyrical Joe emphasised that a well-rounded rapper must understand and apply all these elements effectively.
While he is confident about being the fastest rapper in Ghana, he said he never wanted that to become the main tag associated with his name.
