Legal dispute between Yaw Dabo and Oboy Siki heads to possible settlement
A legal dispute between Ghanaian actor and football administrator Yaw Dabo and his colleague Oboy Siki may be heading toward a peaceful resolution after both sides signalled interest in settling the matter outside court.
The case, filed at the Adum High Court, involves a defamation claim in which Yaw Dabo is seeking GHS 1 million in damages. The actor argues that certain remarks allegedly made by Oboy Siki about his personal life and professional activities harmed his public reputation.
According to the suit, Oboy Siki allegedly made statements questioning Dabo’s private life and criticising his role in football management.
Dabo believes the remarks portrayed him negatively and affected how the public perceives him.
During proceedings, lawyers for the plaintiff explained that after the writ of summons was served, the defendants did not immediately enter an appearance or file a response.
As a result, Dabo initially pushed for the case to continue in court.
However, at the most recent hearing, both parties indicated a willingness to resolve the issue amicably.
The application that sought to move the case forward was therefore withdrawn to allow room for dialogue.
