NPP rudderless is bound to keep them in opposition for quite a long time – Alhaji Said Sinare declares

Ghana’s former Ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, H.E. Alhaji Said Sinare, has launched a blistering political attack on the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), declaring that the party is “delusional, fractured, and destined to languish in opposition” due to the unmatched leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
In a strongly worded statement that has stirred intense political debate, Alhaji Sinare—who also serves as the longest-serving National Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)—praised President Mahama for what he described as pragmatic, visionary, and people-centred leadership.
“President Mahama is not just managing an economy that was wrecked by the NPP—he is restoring hope, building unity, and charting a path toward genuine national recovery,” Sinare stated.
“The delusional, rudderless, and fractured NPP, with their tired propaganda and internal power struggles, offer nothing but confusion and chaos.
They will rot in opposition for their sins against the Ghanaian people.”
He lauded the President’s bold handling of the economy, citing efforts to tame inflation, stabilise the Cedi, and promote social cohesion as evidence of responsible governance.
He described the "Accounting to the People" series as a model of political transparency and a demonstration of Mahama’s commitment to accountability.
On appointments at the Presidency, Alhaji Sinare drew a sharp contrast between the NDC and the NPP, noting that Mahama’s governance style is rooted in meritocracy and national interest, not cronyism.
“Unlike the NPP, which turned the Jubilee House into a bloated clubhouse of family and friends, President Mahama has been deliberate and thoughtful.
His appointments reflect competence, not nepotism,” he said.
Turning his focus to the NPP, Alhaji Sinare painted a bleak picture of a party in turmoil. He described the party as a “malfunctioning political cult” plagued by internal divisions, mistrust among leaders, and a persistent refusal to release its 2024 Election Report, which he said further exposes its credibility crisis.
“Even their own members have lost faith. They are leaking memos, undermining each other, and engaged in a daily civil war of egos,” he said.
“They built nothing, broke everything, and now want to rebrand with a new face to deceive the people.
Ghana has moved on.”
Alhaji Sinare, who also chairs the Zongo Caucus Working Committee of the NDC, concluded by urging Ghanaians to rally behind President Mahama to “complete the rescue mission” and build a future anchored on justice, development, and responsible leadership.
“The people of Ghana know who truly has their interests at heart.
The NDC under John Mahama is the future—and the momentum is unstoppable,” he declared.
