Consider setting up grassroots desk to help address party supporters’ concerns-Labour unionist to NDC

Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Mr Abraham Koomson, has called on the leadership of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to establish a dedicated desk to address the grievances of its grassroots members.
Mr. Koomson noted that many supporters who worked tirelessly to secure the party’s 2024 electoral victory now feel abandoned since the NDC assumed office.
He warned that this growing sense of neglect could foster discontent within the party if not addressed promptly.
“The party leadership must not ignore the grassroots.
Many are feeling neglected by their own party, and this is dangerous for unity and progress,” he cautioned.
According to him, several grassroots members complain that their calls and appeals to party leaders go unanswered.
He therefore proposed the creation of a special desk within the party structure to serve as a direct channel where members can lodge complaints, seek assistance, and receive timely feedback.
While commending the government for introducing initiatives aimed at transforming lives, Mr. Koomson observed that many grassroots supporters struggle to access these opportunities due to technological and logistical barriers.
“Most of the people can’t even access the internet to apply and benefit from these opportunities.
That is why I am calling for a special desk to bridge this gap,” he explained.
He urged the NDC leadership to take the concerns of the party base seriously to ensure continued unity, strengthen the party’s bond with its supporters, and maintain the confidence of those who helped bring it into power.
He was speaking in an interview on Ahotor FM’s Saturday soci-political show.
