Asiedu Nketia urges prayers and support for President Mahama amid tragedy

The National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on Ghanaians to offer prayers and moral support to President John Dramani Mahama and his administration, rather than flooding public discourse with prophecies.
Speaking at the Islamic funeral for the late Alhaji Mohammed Muniru—one of eight people who died in last Wednesday’s tragic helicopter crash—Mr. Nketia reminded mourners that every occurrence in life unfolds under the divine will of God, whether referred to as Allah or the Almighty.
While acknowledging that prophecies may hold some relevance, he cautioned against allowing them to overshadow the need for national unity, solidarity, and resilience during this difficult period.
Mr. Nketia reaffirmed the NDC government’s commitment to “resetting the country” despite the increasing number of prophecies predicting doom for the nation.
His remarks come in response to recent messages and predictions from some religious figures circulating widely on social media, warning of more troubling events ahead.
