Adutwum campaign urges NPP to embrace change in presidential primary

As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for a pivotal internal leadership contest, the spokesperson for Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum’s campaign, Mr. Yaw Opoku Mensah, is rallying delegates and party supporters to back what he describes as a bold and transformative new direction for the party.
Speaking in a passionate address, Mr. Mensah framed Dr. Adutwum’s candidacy as a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reset the party’s course and restore public confidence through visionary and reform-driven leadership.
“We in the NPP have a rare and defining opportunity to change the course of history by choosing Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum to lead us,” Mensah stated.
“He is a celebrated reformer—innovative, principled, and impactful.
At this critical point in our journey, we cannot afford to miss the chance to rally behind him.”
Highlighting Dr. Adutwum’s reputation for results-oriented leadership and educational transformation, the campaign is positioning him as the candidate best equipped to rebuild party unity and reenergize national development efforts.
Mr Mensah also issued a warning against retreating into what he termed “failed leadership styles of the past,” which he argued contributed to internal divisions and electoral setbacks for the party.
“Let the pain of our past teach us valuable lessons,” he said.
“We should never return to what hurt us. We must resist nostalgic calls for a leadership approach that broke the party, shattered progress, and led to humiliating defeat.”
Instead, Mensah called for a fresh start anchored in honesty, bold thinking, and meaningful reform.
He assured party faithful and Ghanaians at large that under Dr. Adutwum’s leadership, the NPP would offer a credible path forward built on trust, innovation, and inclusive development.
“As we head toward this crucial leadership decision, the choice before us is simple: repeat the past or embrace the future.
With Dr. Adutwum, transformation is not a promise—it’s a guarantee.”
