PRINPAG sets August 15 for National Executive Elections

The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has officially scheduled its National Executive Elections for August 15, 2025, following a unanimous decision reached during the Association’s 2nd Quarter meeting.
In a bid to ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process, PRINPAG’s National Executive Committee has established a three-member Electoral Committee to oversee all aspects of the election.
The Electoral Committee, comprised of seasoned media professionals, includes:
Lawyer Ken Agyei Kuranchie – Daily Searchlight newspaper – Election Administrator
Desmond Darko – The Catalyst newspaper – Deputy Election Administrator
Nimatu Yakubu Atuoyese – NewsDeskgh.com – Secretary
The PRINPAG Secretariat has pledged full administrative support to the committee to ensure the successful execution of its mandate.
Committee’s Terms of ReferenceThe Electoral Committee is charged with a broad range of responsibilities, including:
Opening nominations for prospective candidates
Conducting vetting and eligibility assessments
Organizing candidate debates (where necessary)
Supervising the voting process
Declaring official results
Managing any other related tasks to ensure a smooth and credible election
In a statement, PRINPAG expressed confidence in the capacity and professionalism of the appointed team to deliver an election that reflects the Association’s commitment to transparency and democratic governance.
The upcoming polls will usher in a new leadership team for a three-year term, with members urged to participate fully in the electoral process.
