Kumasi Academy headmaster appeals to gov't, alumni for assistance with school infrastructure

The Headmaster of Kumasi Academy (KUMACA), Samuel Kwame Gato, has appealed to government and alumni for assistance with the school’s infrastructure and furniture needs.
Located in Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti region, KUMACA serves over 4,000 students and is currently facing challenges due to inadequate infrastructure and furniture.
The headmaster noted that although the government and various charitable organisations, along with alumni, regularly provided furniture, this was insufficient to meet the needs of the growing student population.
The school’s eight dormitories are also inadequate for accommodation.
He, however, noted they had been managing as best as they could.
He requested that government supplied more furniture to help alleviate the challenges the school faced as they prepared to admit new students.

Additionally, he called for the construction of more classroom blocks and urged the completion of the girls' dormitory, which currently stood 70 per cent complete, as well as the school's library project.
The KUMACA headmaster made these remarks to the media during a visit from the 2024 Ghana's Most Beautiful winner, Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, who inspected a dining hall project funded by KUMACA alumni.
The existing dining hall is too small to accommodate all students, prompting the alumni to expand the facility to increase its capacity.
A former dining prefect, Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim engaged with the students on various topics, including breast cancer awareness, while inspecting the dining facility.
The Headmaster Gato commended the alumni for their efforts on the dining hall project, encouraging them to unite to ensure its successful completion.
Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim urged unity to complete the dining hall.
