GA/R: Avenor Electoral Area Committee member raises concern over incomplete road project

Mr. Alex Pethos, a committee member of the Avenor Electoral Area in the Okaikwei South municipality of the Greater Accra Region, has expressed concern over the incomplete road project along the Accra–Nsawam railway line, calling for urgent attention from relevant authorities to ensure its completion.
Speaking in an interview on the Ghana Yensom morning show on Accra 100.5 FM, hosted by Chief Jerry Forson on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Mr. Pethos noted that the stalled project has created significant challenges for residents and commuters, including poor accessibility, dust pollution, and increased traffic congestion in the area.
He emphasised that the incomplete stretch has also become a safety hazard, particularly during the rainy season when sections of the road become impassable.
Mr. Pethos appealed to the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to prioritise the project and allocate the necessary resources to complete it, adding that the road serves as a vital link between communities along the railway corridor.
Residents have echoed the call, urging swift government intervention to alleviate their daily struggles and improve transportation and commerce within the Avenor area.
