Islamic SHS: Boys Prefect Abass fatally falls from storey building
A form three Business student of Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, identified as Abass, has reportedly died after he fell from the top floor of the school’s administration block.
The tragic event occured on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. He was quickly transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Abass, who also served as the acting Boys’ Prefect, is said to have fallen during school hours, drawing the attention of students and staff who rushed to the scene.
Sources within the school indicate that the deceased had allegedly been contemplating suicide for some time. However, school authorities were unaware of his intentions.
According to persons close to the family, including his mother and uncle, as well as some students, Abass had previously hinted at harming himself, but they assumed he was joking and did not treat the statements seriously.
The body of the deceased has since been buried according to Islamic Traditions.
