The family of the late Delali Adevor Kudzo, a 51-year-old farmer from Kpale Xorse in the Ho West District, together with residents of the community, are demanding justice following his alleged murder by unknown assailants on his farm last month.

Family members, traditional leaders, and scores of residents thronged the Ho District Court 1 on Thursday to witness the first hearing of Frank Xernyo, a 28-year-old suspect arrested in connection with the killing.

According to family sources, the late Mr. Kudzo, a husband and father of five, left home early on Monday, September 1, 2025, for his farm but never returned.

His prolonged absence prompted relatives and neighbours to form a search party to look for him.

Residents recounted that the search team traced Mr. Kudzo’s footprints to his farmland, where they discovered bloodstains, heightening suspicions of foul play.

His lifeless body was later found the next evening, partially buried in a shallow stream behind his farm.

During Thursday’s court sitting, family members and residents of Kpale Xorse appeared in red and black mourning attire, carrying placards with messages such as “Justice for Delali,” “Stop Killing Innocent Farmers,” and “We Demand Accountability.”

The group’s spokesperson, Bishop Victor Goldsmith, expressed the community’s deep grief and anger, calling on the police and the Judiciary to act swiftly and ensure justice is served without delay.

“We cannot sit quietly while innocent farmers are murdered.

We want transparency and fairness in this case.

The community demands justice for Delali,” Bishop Goldsmith declared.

The deceased’s widow, Madam Agbale Mawunyo, tearfully described her late husband as the family’s sole breadwinner, lamenting the hardship his death has brought to their home.

The presiding judge has adjourned the case to December 18, 2025, for further hearing.

The accused, Frank Xernyo, has been remanded into custody at the Ho Prisons to assist with ongoing police investigations.

Meanwhile, the residents of Kpale Xorse have vowed to sustain their campaign for justice, urging law enforcement agencies to expedite the case and ensure transparency throughout the legal process.

“We will not rest until the killers of our brother are brought to justice,” a resident stated.
