Two arrested for impersonating Goldbod taskforce officials in Western Central Region

The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals for extortion and impersonating officials of the Ghana Gold Board Taskforce.
The suspects, identified as 40-year-old Foster Delord and 38-year-old Prince Worvi, allegedly posed as taskforce officers and visited multiple gold dealers under false pretences.
According to police reports, the pair—who claim to be former military officers—targeted gold buyers, claiming to be conducting official inspections on behalf of the Ghana Gold Board.
A complaint lodged by one of the victims led to the swift arrest of the suspects.
During the operation, police retrieved a number of items believed to have been used in the impersonation scheme.
The exhibits included one handcuff, one pepper spray, one electric shocker, a set of uniforms, and a cash amount of GHS 500.
The two suspects were arraigned before the Tarkwa Circuit Court and have since been remanded into police custody as investigations continue.
In a statement, the Regional Police Command urged the public to be vigilant and to request proper identification from anyone claiming to represent a government agency.
The police emphasised the need for gold dealers and the general public to report suspicious individuals to the nearest police station promptly.
The Command assured the public of its commitment to clamping down on fraudulent activities and protecting legitimate businesses within the mining and trading sectors.
