Vice President engages Portage Energy on waste-to-energy partnership opportunities
Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has met with executives of Portage Energy, a clean-energy firm specialising in sustainable waste management and waste-to-energy technologies, including the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
The meeting explored potential partnership opportunities aimed at strengthening Ghana’s commitment to responsible waste management and advancing the country’s transition toward cleaner, more efficient energy solutions.
During the engagement, the Vice President emphasised that, in the current political and economic climate, Ghana is seeking transparent, mutually beneficial, and value-driven partnerships that align with national development priorities and deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
She expressed optimism about continued dialogue with Portage Energy as both parties work to identify collaborative pathways that support Ghana’s strategic environmental and energy goals.
Government officials at the meeting described it as a significant step toward exploring innovative technologies capable of transforming waste into economic and environmental value, particularly within the emerging green economy.
