Ministers’ Wives Association of Assemblies of God pays courtesy call on First Lady
The National Executives of the Ministers (Pastors’) Wives Association of Assemblies of God, Ghana, has paid a courtesy call on the First Lady, H.E. Mrs. Lordina Mahama, at her office in Accra.
The delegation was led by the National President of the Association, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, wife of the General Superintendent of the church.
She was accompanied by the National Vice President, Rev. Mrs. Gladys Tito Agyei, and the National Secretary, Mrs. Hannah Birikorang.
Also present were regional executives — Mrs. Rita Awintia, Accra East Regional President, and Rev. Mrs. Barbara Ayesu, Accra West Regional President.
The visit was to congratulate the First Lady on her elevation, express appreciation for her participation in the 2024 Ministers’ Wives Conference, and discuss key national issues relating to the welfare of women.
Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam commended the First Lady and the President for their loyalty and commitment as longstanding members of the church.
She also lauded the First Couple for their continuous support of retired ministers, their spouses, and widows of deceased pastors, particularly through free medical screening and treatment initiatives.
The meeting explored opportunities for stronger collaboration between the church and the state, especially in advancing the welfare and empowerment of women across the country.
H.E. Mrs. Lordina Mahama encouraged the church to invest significantly in interventions that benefit women and children, noting that such efforts are crucial for national development.
The delegation presented the First Lady with gifts, including a Bible and church souvenirs.
They also offered prayers for the First Couple and the nation.
Mrs. Mahama, in return, presented souvenirs from the Lordina Foundation to the visiting team.
