GoldBod publishes correct image of gold smuggling suspect Mohammed Nandoli Rafeeq

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has corrected the published photograph of one of the suspects in the gold smuggling case it is currently prosecuting by name, Mohammed Nandoli Rafeeq, alias Salaam.
"While the name and other details of the suspect published by the GoldBod at its presser today, 16th September 2025 are correct, the picture published was in error. The picture published is rather Mr. Shamlal Ahamed, Managining Director, International Operations, of Malabar Gold and Diamonds," the board explained in a statement.
The Samuel Gyamfi-led GoldBod said it "deeply" regretted the "inadvertent mistake and conveys its sincerest apologies to Mr. Shamlal Ahamed and the Malabar Gold and Diamonds company".
The statement signed by Prince Kwame Minkah, Media Relations Officer, GoldBod, showed the "actual photograph of Mohammed Nandoli Rafeeq, the suspect in the gold smuggling case involving RAFMOH Gold Limited and NK Bernard Enterprise".
