GNFS takes on 'blazing domestic fire' at Lartebiokorshie, warns residents to keep windows, doors shut

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has reported a “blazing domestic fire” incident at Lartebiokorshie, near the Salvation Army School in Accra.
ADO1 Derrick Elorm Adzokpa of the Public Relations Department of GNFS provided the update at the scene via Facebook Live.
He mentioned five pumps had “been dispatched to the scene”. He explained and showed three were active at the scene, “with two [others] on their way to augment water supply”.
He noted firefighters were “doing everything they can to make sure we confine the fire and prevent further spread to other unaffected buildings”.
He said Electricity Company Ghana (ECG) had been “contacted to cut off power supply to the area so firefighters can effectively fight the fire”.
The scenes shown in the social media broadcast showed a giant fire, with towering black clouds of smoke, emanating from a property with a wall that stretched long horizontally.
ADO1 Derrick Elorm Adzokpa bemoaned "assessibility seems to be a major obstacle" to the GNFS. That notwithstanding, he told the public "you can trust the Ghana Fire Service to bring the fire under control".

In the comments, one Ubuntu Meleidys commented that the fire and smoke were so profound, he could see them in Kaneshie, a community neighbouring Lartebiokorshie.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, nor have any casualties been reported so far.
The owners of the property have not been named.
At publication time, GNFS has asked residents around Salvation, Radio Gold, Appiah Dankwa, Soko to "keep windows and doors closed to prevent smoke and fumes from getting in their rooms" as they are currently "attending a major fire at Larterbiokoshie, around Appiah Dankwa".
