Akyem Kotoku chief pays courtesy call on Lands Minister; discusses protection of natural resources

The chief of Akyem Kotoku state, Oseadeeyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, on Friday, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, to discuss matters relating to the protection and sustainable management of land and natural resources within the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area in the Eastern Region.
The King was accompanied by a high-powered delegation that included Obrempong Tabi Anom Bankame, Anamasehene and Nifahene; Nana Ama Agyeiwaa Agyenkumwa, Asenehemaa; Osabarima Ankomah Bempong I, Kotoku Abontendomhene; Nana Ayirebihene; Okyeame Obeng Mireku Marfo; and Chris Kwarko Aning, Secretary to the Paramount King of Akyem Kotoku State.
Discussions during the visit focused on preserving the integrity of the environment, curbing illegal mining activities, and ensuring that the exploitation of natural resources benefits the people of Akyem Kotoku while protecting the ecosystem for future generations.
The Lands and Natural Resources Minister commended the chief and his delegation for their proactive approach and commitment to safeguarding the environment.
He assured the traditional leaders of the Ministry’s continuous collaboration with traditional authorities to promote sustainable land use, responsible mining, and community development.
Oseadeeyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, for his part, reaffirmed his dedication to supporting government efforts in protecting Ghana’s natural wealth and promoting peace and development within the Akyem Kotoku State.
