T-Bills: Gov't exceeds target via 23% oversubscription

Per trading result from the Bank of Ghana (BoG), treasury bills were oversubscribed by 23.5%.
This came after the successful completion of the 5th review of Ghana’s programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Returning to oversubscription after two weeks of undersubscription, the government accepted GH¢6.33 billion out of a total GH¢6.507 billion bids, exceeding a target of GH¢ 5.269.
With about GH¢5.415 billion of the bids tendered, and a GH¢5.409 billion uptake, a little over 83% of the bids came from the 91-day bill. Also, the yield on this bill increased by 6.0 basis points to 10.53%.
For the 182-day bill, GH¢941.71 million of the bids were tendered. The bids accepted were estimated to the tune of GH¢786.71 million. The yield on this bill went down to 12.30% from 12.35% from the earlier week.
For the 364-day bill, GH¢150.4 million of the bids were tendered, with about GH¢140.4 million accepted. The yield on the 364-day bill increased by 9.0 basis points to 12.87%.
