Atuabo Gas Processing Plant to undergo scheduled maintenance from August 16–30

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has approved a request from the Ghana National Gas Company Limited(Ghana Gas) to carry out a scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant from 16th to 30th August 2025.
According to the Ministry, the temporary shutdown is part of the government’s commitment to ensuring the continued safe and reliable operation of the facility.
During this period, Ghana Gas will suspend gas supply to enable critical inspections, repairs, and upgrades to key equipment and systems aimed at improving the plant’s operational efficiency and performance.
To prevent disruptions in electricity supply, the Ministry says it has worked with key power sector stakeholders to put in place comprehensive mitigation measures, including the strategic use of alternative fuel sources to maintain a stable and uninterrupted power supply nationwide.
The Ministry has assured the public of its commitment to reliable energy delivery and pledged to provide regular updates on the maintenance progress.
The statement was signed by Richmond Rockson, Spokesperson and Head of Communication at the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition.
