DVLA boss honoured with two awards at National Technology and Communications Awards
The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, has been recognised for his outstanding leadership and innovation in public service at the National Technology and Communications Awards held on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Mr. Kotey received two major honours — Tech-Driven Public Sector Business Leader of the Year and Communication-Oriented CEO of the Year — in recognition of his transformative leadership and commitment to digital innovation within the DVLA.
The awards celebrate individuals and institutions that have demonstrated excellence in leveraging technology and effective communication to improve service delivery and promote national development.
In a statement following the ceremony, Mr. Kotey expressed deep gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the trust and opportunity to serve, dedicating the honours to “the grassroots and the streets,” whose continuous support, he said, inspires his work.
“This recognition is not mine alone — it belongs to the hardworking team at the DVLA and the people whose support keeps us going.
Your encouragement is well noticed and deeply appreciated,” he said.
Under Mr. Kotey’s leadership, the DVLA has implemented several technology-driven reforms aimed at improving efficiency, enhancing customer experience, and curbing corruption in licensing and vehicle registration processes.
The recognition, industry experts say, highlights the growing role of technology and communication as key drivers of effective governance and public sector transformation in Ghana.
