JHS pupil found dead at Kwahu Bepong, police launch investigations
A Junior High School form two pupil, identified as Ma’adwoa Michelle, has been found dead at Kwahu Bepong in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region in what police suspect to be a case of suicide.
According to family members, the young girl had spent the previous evening at home with her grandmother and reportedly showed no signs of distress or unusual behaviour.
Her grandmother said Ma’adwoa returned from school and was later seen doing her homework before going to her room to change and prepare for the evening.
The situation took a tragic turn when a relative called and asked that Ma’adwoa assist with packing some food items.
When she could not be found shortly afterwards, family members began searching for her and discovered her unresponsive in her room.
Police were subsequently called to the scene and conveyed the body for further examination as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
The incident has cast a heavy cloud over the community, leaving family members, classmates, teachers, and residents in deep shock and mourning.
Authorities have urged the public to seek support and speak to family members, teachers, or health professionals when dealing with emotional or psychological challenges.
