On the opening day of the Global Fraud Summit, the Ghanaian delegation, led by Deputy Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Justica Sai, made a firm statement against international arrangements on cross-border fraud that create a one-way system of extraditing cybercrime suspects to Western countries.

Speaking at the UN Headquarters in Vienna, Deputy Minister Sai emphasized that Ghana supports global cooperation against fraud, but only within frameworks that ensure reciprocity. This includes mechanisms for:

- Swift extradition of political corruption suspects,

- Recovery of stolen assets to African countries, and

- Equitable enforcement of international cybercrime laws.

The summit, held under the auspices of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and INTERPOL, aims to explore the creation of a global legal framework for combating cross-border fraud.

Delegates from across the world are engaging in discussions on balancing international cooperation with fairness and respect for national interests.

Deputy Minister Sai concluded that Ghana will actively participate in global initiatives against fraud, provided they are mutually beneficial and uphold the principle of justice for all parties involved.
