Faith in God sustained me through my Prison ordeal-Agradaa speaks out
Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa or Mama Pat, has opened up about the deep reflections that carried her through her time in prison after being handed a 15-year sentence.
Speaking in an audio shared by the Ghana Prison Service on March 2, 2026, she recounted the fear and uncertainty that overwhelmed her on her first day behind bars.
She admitted that she thought she might not survive, but her Bible and prayers became her only source of strength.
“On my way to prison, I honestly thought I was going to die.
When I got to the gate, I prayed and handed myself over to God because I had no idea what awaited me inside. I just held my Bible and walked in,” she said.
Agradaa revealed that the sentence initially felt unreal, and she struggled to accept the possibility of spending such a long time in jail.
Yet, she anchored her hope in God, drawing inspiration from the faith of those who served Him in the old days.
She explained that she believed God would not disgrace her, just as He had delivered His faithful servants in the past.
With that conviction, she resolved that if God delivered her from prison, she would dedicate her entire life to serving Him.
“When I was sentenced to 15 years, I never believed I would actually spend that long in jail.
I kept asking myself what I had done wrong, so I couldn’t accept that fate.
At that point, I believed the only things that could help me were prayers and the word of God.
I told myself that if God delivered me, I would serve Him with everything I have,” she added.
On March 3, 2026, Nana Agradaa was released, marking what she describes as a turning point in her spiritual journey.
For her, the experience was not just about survival but about reaffirming her faith and making a solemn vow to live in total service to God.
