Ashanti Regional Minister engages US Embassy to strengthen bilateral ties, invites Olson to Kumasi
Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, has held a high-level discussion with Ambassador Rolf Olson, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the US Embassy in Ghana, to explore opportunities for deepening cooperation between the Ashanti Region and the United States.
According to a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Dr Amoakohene highlighted key areas of mutual interest during the meeting, including collaborations ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, education initiatives such as the EducationUSA College Fair, and cultural exchanges aimed at strengthening US–Ghana relations.
The minister also extended an invitation to Mr Olson to attend the forthcoming Ashanti Trade Expo, emphasising the role of the Ghanaian diaspora in promoting the region’s economic and cultural initiatives.
Discussions further explored potential sister city partnerships for the Ashanti Region, a move expected to enhance trade, education, and tourism opportunities.
Dr Amoakohene expressed optimism about the partnership, stating that he looks forward to welcoming Ambassador Olson to Kumasi soon, “as we continue to advance this important collaboration”.
