Presidency engages Bui Power Authority on special agro-economic zone project
The Director of Agribusiness Development at the Office of the President, Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, has held discussions with officials of the Bui Power Authority on plans to enhance food security through the development of a Special Agro-Economic Zone under the Bui City Project.
The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts by the government to explore opportunities for agricultural and economic development within the Bui enclave.
According to Dr. Otokunor, the proposed agro-economic zone is expected to support Ghana’s food security agenda while driving large-scale agricultural production and agribusiness development in the area.
He noted that the initiative would also play a key role in unlocking the economic potential of the Bui area and its surrounding communities.
The project is expected to accelerate agro-economic transformation in the enclave and create employment opportunities for young people living in and around the area.
Officials believe the initiative will position the Bui zone as a major hub for agribusiness and related economic activities as part of broader efforts to stimulate rural development and job creation.
