NPA delegation inspects Tema Oil jetty for 24-hour operations
The Director of Port, Tema, Mr. Tebon Zumah, has received a delegation from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) as part of efforts to assess the readiness of the Tema Oil Jetty for 24-hour service.
The delegation, led by the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, visited the facility to verify progress made toward enabling round-the-clock operations at the oil berth.
The engagement follows an earlier inspection conducted last year, during which several operational and safety gaps were identified and required attention to facilitate the safe berthing and discharge of petroleum vessels at night.
During the visit, Mr. Zumah led the delegation on a tour of the berth to inspect the progress of ongoing works aimed at addressing the identified challenges.
Mr. Tamakloe expressed satisfaction with the improvements made so far and encouraged the timely completion of the remaining works.
He noted that fully operationalising the oil jetty for 24-hour service would support the government’s drive to implement a 24-hour economy policy and enhance efficiency in petroleum vessel handling at the port.
