GIPC CEO tours Olam Agri’s $40m Pasta plant ahead of opening
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, has toured Olam Agri Ghana Limited’s newly constructed pasta production facility at Kpone-Tema ahead of its official inauguration scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The state-of-the-art plant, which will be opened by President John Dramani Mahama, marks a significant milestone in Olam Agri’s expansion within Ghana’s agro-industrial sector.
The Co-Founder and Group CEO of Olam, Sunny Verghese, is expected to attend the ceremony.
Olam Agri has invested US$40 million in the project, which is projected to create 200 new jobs, in addition to the 300 employees currently engaged at its existing flour mill.
The new plant will process locally milled flour into finished pasta products, a move aimed at reducing Ghana’s dependence on imported pasta.
During the tour, Mr. Madjie engaged management of Olam Agri to review construction progress, production plans and sourcing strategies.
He reiterated GIPC’s commitment to supporting investors at every stage of their operations, emphasising the Centre’s role in fostering a conducive investment climate.
The latest investment builds on the foundation established in 2012, when former President John Evans Atta Mills inaugurated Olam Agri’s US$55 million wheat milling facility in Tema.
The expansion underscores sustained investor confidence in Ghana’s agro-industrial sector and highlights the impact of stable economic policies and consistent government support in encouraging long-term reinvestment.
