COCOBOD engages Dutch Cocoa Coalition on sustainable cocoa sector collaboration
Management of the Ghana Cocoa Board has hosted a delegation from the Dutch Cocoa Coalition Platform to explore opportunities for collaboration aimed at strengthening Ghana’s cocoa industry.
The delegation was led by the Netherlands Ambassador to Ghana, Jeroen Verheul, and the meeting took place at the Cocoa House.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of COCOBOD, the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Operations, James Kofi Kutsoati, reaffirmed the board’s commitment to supporting the coalition through technical expertise and strategic partnerships.
He noted that collaboration between COCOBOD and international stakeholders is essential to building a sustainable and resilient cocoa sector.
Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening Ghana’s cocoa value chain through improved farmer welfare, sustainable pricing mechanisms, the promotion of agroforestry practices and intensified efforts to eliminate child labour in cocoa-growing communities.
