Ghana secured a convincing victory over Liberia in an international friendly match held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

The Black Stars delivered an impressive second-half performance that led to a comfortable win, with goals coming from Ernest Nuamah, Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew.

Ghana's head coach, Chris Hughton, made several changes to the team that had previously defeated the Central African Republic in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Among the notable additions were teenage sensation Ernest Nuamah, who earned a starting role after his standout performance in the previous match, as well as debutants Abdul Fatawu Hamidu and Jonathan Sowah from Medeama SC, and Hamburger defender Stephan Ambrosius.

Ghana dominated the match from the beginning, with an early chance in the second minute that was expertly saved by Liberia's goalkeeper, Boison Wynney. The Black Stars continued their dominance throughout the game, effectively keeping the Liberian attack at bay, as Liberia failed to register a single shot on target.

The breakthrough for Ghana came seven minutes into the second half when Ernest Nuamah scored with a superb strike. Kudus, the new signing for West Ham, extended Ghana's lead with an excellent effort from close range, receiving a pass from Nuamah.

Jordan Ayew, a substitute, added another goal for Ghana through a rebound, while Liberia managed to get a consolation goal through Divine Rosevelt Teah in the closing stages of the match.

Ghana's next international friendly will be against the US Men's Soccer Team in October, followed by their opening game in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar in November.
