President Mahama begins Greater Accra tour with a grand durbar in Dodowa

As part of his ongoing nationwide “Thank You” tour, President John Dramani Mahama is set to begin a visit to the Greater Accra Region today.
This tour is aimed at expressing his deep appreciation to the chiefs and people of the region for their overwhelming support and the decisive electoral victory secured by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 7, 2024, general elections.
The highlight of today’s visit will be a special durbar to be held at the Old Ghanata Astro Turf in Dodowa at exactly 2:00 p.m.
The event is expected to bring together traditional leaders, party faithful, opinion leaders, youth groups, and members of the general public from across the region.
This durbar serves not only as a gesture of gratitude but also as a platform for President Mahama to reaffirm his commitment to the people of Greater Accra.
He is anticipated to speak on key areas of development outlined in the NDC’s #ResettingGhana manifesto, with a focus on infrastructure, youth empowerment, healthcare, and job creation.
In preparing for the durbar, local organisers have taken steps to ensure the venue is ready to accommodate the expected crowd, complete with sound systems, security arrangements, seating areas, and cultural performances.
Chiefs and traditional rulers will be seated in accordance with custom, and special attention is being paid to the ceremonial protocols that define such important gatherings.
For attendees, the event offers a rare opportunity to engage directly with President Mahama and to hear firsthand how his administration plans to tackle the challenges facing the region.
It is also a moment of celebration and solidarity—a recognition of the shared vision between the people of Greater Accra and the NDC leadership.
In essence, today's durbar at Dodowa will not only mark the beginning of President Mahama’s Greater Accra regional tour but also symbolise a renewed partnership between the NDC and the people, driven by a common goal to build a better Ghana for all.
