Okudzeto-Ablakwa pledges enhanced visa access for Ghanaian fans after Black Stars’ 2026 World Cup qualification

Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Black Stars following their emphatic qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a statement issued shortly after the team’s decisive victory, the Minister commended the players, technical team, and supporters for restoring national pride and reaffirming Ghana’s place among football’s global elite.
Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa assured Ghanaians that his Ministry will actively leverage Ghana’s strengthened diplomatic relations with the host nations — the United States, Canada, and Mexico — to secure favourable visa arrangements for Ghanaian fans eager to support the Black Stars at the tournament.
“Ghanaians can be fully assured that the Foreign Ministry under my leadership shall leverage our improved cordial diplomatic relations with the United States, Canada, and Mexico to guarantee appreciable visa quotas for our globally acclaimed football fans,” the Minister stated.
He emphasised that the government is committed to ensuring that every Ghanaian who wishes to witness the historic event in person will have a fair opportunity to do so, adding that the Ministry will announce detailed travel facilitation measures in due course.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, will mark Ghana’s fifth appearance at the global football showpiece.
