Former NPP running mate’s wife visits Weija Leprosarium
Alma Pokua Adade-Prempeh, wife of the immediate past running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), paid a humanitarian visit to the Weija Leprosarium on Tuesday, 2nd December 2024, where she engaged with Father Andrew Campbell, founder of the Lepers Aid Committee and Resident Director of the facility.
Mrs. Adade-Prempeh praised Father Campbell’s unwavering dedication to improving the lives of persons affected by leprosy, describing his decades of service as “truly inspiring.”
Speaking during the visit, she reaffirmed the NPP’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of vulnerable groups and ensuring that all citizens are treated with dignity.
She emphasised that supporting the less endowed remained a core value of the party.
Mrs. Adade-Prempeh also highlighted the efforts of the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, noting that he has been a consistent advocate for the welfare of lepers across the country.
“Dr. Bawumia’s extraordinary support has brought hope to many, and I assure you this commitment will continue under his leadership,” she said.
She called on Ghanaians and institutions to join hands in building a compassionate society where no one is left behind, adding that collective effort is crucial in creating lasting change.
