Ablekuma North: EC rules out re-run of polls

The Electoral Commission (EC) has stated that it is not considering a re-run of the parliamentary election in Ablekuma North Constituency in the Greater Accra Region until all necessary processes have been fully exhausted.
Deputy EC Chair, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, made this known when he appeared before Parliament on Thursday.
He explained that the Commission requires adequate security protection to complete the collation and formally declare the winner of the election.
Dr. Bossman Asare’s comments were in response to a question posed by the Majority Chief Whip, Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, who sought clarification on why the EC had not yet declared the results for the Ablekuma North constituency.
The EC has come under pressure in recent weeks to address the delay in announcing the final outcome, but insists that due process must be followed before any decision is made.
