Suspected food poisoning claims 2 lives, leaves 2 battling for their lives at Kwahu Atibie

Kwahu Atibie in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of a food vendor, identified as Taanii, and her two-year-old son, from suspected food poisoning.
Two other family members are currently battling for their lives at the Kwahu Government Hospital in Atibie.
According to residents, the incident happened after Taanii and her family returned home from Mpraeso, where she had sold food the previous day.
They reportedly showed no signs of illness when they retired to bed that night.
However, concerns were raised the following morning when the family failed to wake up.
The landlord, Mr. Osarfo Wiafe Emmanuel, who discovered the situation, explained that the family had returned home peacefully and only in the morning were they found unresponsive.
He immediately reported the matter to the police, suspecting possible food poisoning.
The bodies of Taanii and her child have since been deposited at the Kwahu Government Hospital morgue for autopsy, while the two surviving victims remain under critical care at the same hospital.
Police investigations into the incident are underway.
