The First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, has extended a heartfelt message of appreciation to Ghanaian mothers and women in celebration of this year’s Mother’s Day.

In a statement released on Sunday, Mrs. Mahama praised the strength, resilience, and unwavering love of Ghanaian mothers, describing them as “the pillars of our homes and the heartbeat of our nation.”

“This day is an opportunity to pause and honour the incredible strength, unwavering love, and countless sacrifices that mothers make daily,” she said.

“Our nurturing hands, wise counsel, and unconditional assistance foster strong families and communities, laying the groundwork for a compassionate society.”

Mrs. Mahama acknowledged the daily struggles many women endure in their quest to provide better lives for their families, linking their well-being to the broader development and stability of the nation.

Reaffirming her husband's vision, she noted that President John Dramani Mahama remains committed to resetting Ghana’s economy for robust and inclusive growth, creating jobs for the youth, and attracting both local and international investment.

“He remains steadfast in his commitment to creating an environment where every Ghanaian family can prosper,” she emphasised.

The First Lady also highlighted the continued work of the Lordina Foundation in empowering women and vulnerable groups through skills training, economic support, and advocacy.

She stressed her dedication to maternal and child health, pledging continued support for the improvement of healthcare infrastructure, particularly maternity and children’s wards across the country.

“Ensuring that mothers receive the best possible care during pregnancy and childbirth and that our children have access to quality health services is a cause very close to my heart, and I will continue to champion it,” she stated.

Mrs. Mahama concluded her message by celebrating all mothers and women of Ghana, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to society and wishing them a joyful and peaceful Mother’s Day.

“Your sacrifices, strength, and love are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated by your families, communities, and nation,” she said.
